Pediatric Clinical Psychologist specializing in Hematology​/Oncology | Norton Children’s Medical

NORTON CHILDREN’S BEHAVIORAL & MENTAL HEALTH
, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine and a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, is seeking a fellowship-trained pediatric clinical psychologist specializing in pediatric hematology and oncology, to join its established program in Louisville, Kentucky. The selected candidate will deliver evidence-based assessment and treatment services to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, and join a multidisciplinary team of 25 clinicians, including 10 psychologists, 9 psychiatrists, 3 APPs, and 3 LCSWs providing direct patient care.

Clinical work will be primarily provided in multidisciplinary pediatric hematology-oncology clinics and to patients hospitalized at Norton Children’s Hospital.

The psychologist will also be involved with training psychology residents in our APA-accredited doctoral internship in Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychology, post-doctoral psychology fellows, child psychiatry residents, pediatrics residents, and medical students. While the position is primarily clinical in focus, the faculty member will have opportunities for research and clinical innovation. This will be a combined 1.0 FTE with Norton Children’s Medical Group, affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry & Psychology.

The faculty appointment for this position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Pediatrics.

• Pediatric psychologist with training and experience in pediatric hematology-oncology services
• Doctorate in clinical, school or counseling psychology at an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited internship
• Postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology
• Kentucky psychologist license or license eligible
• Eligible for Health Service Provider (HSP) designation

Patients and their families have access to child psychiatric and psychological evaluation and treatments. Services include medication therapy and a broad range of individual, group and family therapies. Norton Children’s Behavioral & Mental Health evaluated over 15,900 children and adolescents in 2022 for inpatient and outpatient therapeutic services and emergency psychiatric services, with more than 700 admissions each year to the Ackerly Child Psychiatric Unit at Norton Children’s Hospital.
