Must be eligible to provide clinical supervision to 1+ graduate student trainees in compliance with licensing board requirements.

Description:
The Counseling Center in the division of Student Affairs at the University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Counselor II. The Counselor provides licensed therapeutic services for student patients including individual, group, and couples counseling and crisis intervention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides triages/intakes
- Provides individual, group, and couples counseling to students, both in-person and via a telehealth platform
- Prepares accurate and timely patient records, evaluations, and reports and completes documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standards
- Consults and collaborates with supervisors and peers, Campus Health providers, Care and Conducts staff as necessary, as well as external agencies if necessary
- Participates in outreach initiatives such as resource fairs and department presentations
- Provides clinical supervision to one or more graduate student trainees as required, in compliance with licensing board requirements for the position
- Represents the Counseling Center on University and divisional committees
- Kentucky licensure allowing for autonomous functioning
- Four (4) years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with patients that have substance abuse issues and trauma
- Experience with group therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma treatment
- Experience working in medical and higher education settings
This is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek. The work location is at the Health Sciences Center. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, and/or scheduling. Occasional overnight travel may be required (to attend professional development functions, etc.).
