This is an exciting opportunity to join the Baptist Health Louisville team during a period of rapid expansion. The 30+ bed Observation Unit will function in support of both our Emergency Department and telemetry units by allowing us to observe low acuity patients for a slightly extended period of time in order to determine whether they need to be admitted to a telemetry unit.
This will be a fast-paced, exciting work environment with terrific nurse-to-patient ratios that would be a great fit for nurses with a background in Telemetry, ED, ICU/CCU, and more.
The following is a summary of the major functions of this position. Registered nurses may perform other duties, not specified in this document and specific functions may change as professional practice and standards evolve.
- Performs assessment/reassessment.
- Develops plan of care utilizing appropriate evidence based standards of care.
- Provides care consistent with policies, procedures, current evidence based professional standards of practice and Baptist Health Louisville's nursing mission, vision, values and model of care.
- Evaluates patient response to treatment.
- Applies critical thinking, clinical reasoning, organizational and leadership skills.
- Active Kentucky License
- BCLS
- ACLS
