The Hospitality Lead (SEASONAL) helps within the Guest Operations department under the Hospitality Supervisor and Experience & Logistics Manager. They assist by leading teams in all department areas including the Ticket Office/Gift Shop and the onboard bar, concession and souvenir stands; ensuring efficient, consistent and positive experiences for both passengers and employees.
Examples of Work- Works and follows all processes needed to perform all subordinate positions in the Guest Operations department including but not limited to Point of Sales systems (Fare Harbor, Toast, etc.), Health Department, ticket office, concessions and bar.
- Cash handling; can be asked to reconcile banks at the end of shift.
- Leads teams in performing assigned duties effectively and accurately, providing training, and passing along any performance issues to the Hospitality Supervisor for addressing, as needed.
- Addresses and resolves issues to ensure guest satisfaction and if needed, notifies the Hospitality Supervisor for further assistance.
- Assists in the setup for regular cruises, special events, etc. preparing and moving equipment, furniture and supplies.
- Helps count inventory, minimize waste initiatives and ensures proper stock levels.
- Acts as a member of the Safety Team as assigned by the Captain or Mate and undergo regular safety training.
- Reports to and assists the Hospitality Supervisor, Experience & Logistics Manager and Mate with various tasks/needs.
- Performs related work and other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to problem solve.
- Organizational skills and adaptability to changing situations.
- Must work a varied schedule (typical weeks are Thursday – Monday).
- Able to tolerate hot and cold environments.
- Able to transit stairs and stand for long periods of time (up to 5 hours during a cruise)
- Must be a minimum of 19 years of age.
- Must wear safety equipment as mandated by the US Coast Guard and Health Department.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the US Coast Guard including but not limited to pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.
