Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Project Management, Engineering or related field
- 3–5 years of experience managing projects or programs, within HR
- Foundational knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and multiple stakeholders
- Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent) preferred
The HR Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering human resources projects in alignment with PMO standards and governance. This role applies foundational project management skills to independently lead small, medium, and select large projects with limited supervision, while also supporting PMO processes, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
The HR Project Manager partners with HR stakeholders, business leaders, and the PMO to manage project execution and organizational change, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively and adopted by impacted audiences.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Execution- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of HR projects from initiation through closeout using PMO‑approved methodologies
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk and issue logs, and status reports
- Manage project scope, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables; elevate risks appropriately
- Independently manage small and medium projects and contribute to larger, more complex projects with limited supervision
- Support change management activities for HR initiatives, including stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments, and adoption planning
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to identify change risks and resistance points
- Support development and execution of change and communication plans to promote awareness, readiness, and adoption
- Track adoption‑related risks and issues and recommend mitigation actions
- Partner with HR stakeholders, PMO leadership, and cross‑functional teams to define project objectives and deliverables
- Facilitate project meetings, manage action items, and ensure timely follow‑through
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders and leadership
- Apply and support PMO standards, tools, templates, and reporting requirements
- Support consolidated project status and financial reporting for HR initiatives
- Assist with PMO governance activities, audits, and process adherence
- Participate in lessons learned, retrospectives, and post‑project reviews
- Identify opportunities to improve HR project delivery processes and PMO practices
- Support implementation of new PMO tools, methodologies, or best practices
