At District Photo, our employees are the heart of our company. We are seeking a HR Generalist in our Louisville factory

Position Summary

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting day‑to‑day human resources operations across the employee lifecycle. This role provides hands‑on support in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training coordination, HR administration, and data/reporting. The HR Generalist partners closely with employees, supervisors, and leadership to ensure consistent HR practices that support a positive, productive, and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Support
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, attendance, and general HR matters.
  • Support investigations related to employee concerns, performance, or conduct.
  • Partner with managers to address coaching, corrective action, and documentation.
Recruiting & Onboarding
  • Manage full‑cycle recruitment for assigned roles, including posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and assisting with offers.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities such as orientation sessions, new hire paperwork, and systems setup.
  • Ensure a smooth new‑hire experience and consistent communication.
HR Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records, files, and HRIS data.
  • Process status changes, promotions, terminations, and other employment lifecycle updates.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollments and support employees with benefit questions.
Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and organizational policies.
  • Support audits, compliance reporting, and policy updates.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance training and documentation.
Training & Development
  • Support scheduling and tracking of required training programs.
  • Assist with onboarding training, culture initiatives, and engagement activities.
Payroll & Timekeeping Support
  • Review and audit timekeeping entries for accuracy.
  • Assist with resolving pay issues and coordinating between employees and payroll.
HR Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in HR initiatives such as engagement programs, talent reviews, DE&I efforts, and process improvements.
  • Provide data and reporting to support HR analytics and decision‑making.

Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of HR experience (generalist or coordinator level).
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Manufacturing or multi‑shift environment experience preferred (optional line).
