* About Brown Carrington
* Brown Carrington is a nationally recognized family and matrimonial law firm with offices in
* Louisville, Lexington, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Denver, Atlanta, and Palm Beach*. We handle some of the most complex family law matters in the country. That means our systems—digital and otherwise—must be calm, clear, reliable, and intentional. We value
* clarity over noise, execution over hype, and systems that hold up under pressure*.
* The Opportunity
* This role is
* not* about patching plugins, chasing theme updates, or reacting to breakage. You will
* own and evolve
* a high-performance Word Press ecosystem designed for:
* Multi-market growth
* Measurement and attribution
* Conversion and intake efficiency
* Long-term maintainability and security
You’ll work closely with leadership, SEO, paid media, intake, and creative partners to ensure the website functions as a
* true business platform*, not a digital brochure. This role is for a developer who understands that
* architecture choices affect marketing outcomes, business performance, and real human experiences*.
* What You’ll Do
* As our senior full-stack engineer, you will architect, build, and maintain Word Press as a production-grade platform.
That includes:
* Frontend & UX Engineering
* * Build clean, accessible, responsive interfaces using
* modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript
* * Develop reusable components and block patterns (Gutenberg) for scalable, multi-office growth
* Ensure consistent UX across devices, browsers, and screen sizes
* Collaborate with designers and marketers to balance aesthetics, clarity, and conversion
* Backend & Word Press Architecture
* * Develop and maintain
* custom themes and plugins* (no page-builder dependency)
* Design and manage
* custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields
* * Extend Word Press via
* REST APIs, webhooks, and integrations
* * Enforce coding standards, documentation, and maintainable patterns
* Performance, Security & Reliability
* * Optimize
* Core Web Vitals*, caching strategies, asset delivery, and database performance
* Implement security best practices: permissions, hardening, monitoring, backups
* Manage hosting environments, staging workflows, and deployment processes
* Proactively monitor uptime, errors, and performance regressions
* Data, Analytics & Integrations
* * Implement and maintain
* GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking
* * Integrate CRMs, intake systems, form builders, call tracking, and marketing platforms
* Troubleshoot tracking accuracy across paid media, SEO, and attribution models
* Ensure data integrity across user journeys and intake funnels
* Systems Thinking & Collaboration
* * Partner with SEO, paid media, and leadership to align technical decisions with business goals
* Evaluate tools and plugins critically—adopting only what serves long-term stability
* Anticipate growth challenges and design systems that scale cleanly
* What We’re Looking For
* This is a senior-level role. We’re looking for someone who has
* seen things break—and knows how to prevent it next time*.
You likely bring:
* 8–12+ years of professional web development experience
* Deep expertise in
* Word Press internals*, including custom themes and plugins
* Strong proficiency in
* PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
* * Experience with
* REST APIs, third-party integrations, and data flows
* * Comfort with
* Git, staging environments, and modern deployment workflows
* * A strong grasp of
* performance…
