Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations
ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Systems Engineering to lead the design, automation, and delivery of our on‑premises datacenter infrastructure. This role oversees teams responsible for compute, storage, virtualization, and core systems, with a strong focus on automation, standardization, and project execution. Cloud experience is a plus, but the primary focus is on on‑prem infrastructure excellence.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Lead teams operating and modernizing on‑prem datacenter platforms, including VMware and/or Nutanix environments.
- Own reliability, scalability, and lifecycle management of compute, storage, and core infrastructure systems.
- Drive automation across provisioning, configuration, patching, and platform operations.
- Lead infrastructure initiatives such as datacenter upgrades, hardware refreshes, platform migrations, and modernization efforts.
- Partner with architecture, security, networking, and application teams to deliver projects with minimal operational impact.
- Develop and mentor engineering leaders, fostering accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Provide clear communication on risks, priorities, and delivery progress to senior leadership.
- 8+ years of systems or infrastructure engineering experience in on‑prem datacenter environments
. - 3+ years of people management experience leading managers and/or senior engineers.
- Strong experience with VMware and/or Nutanix platforms and enterprise storage systems.
- Proven success driving automation and infrastructure modernization.
- Experience leading complex infrastructure projects end to end.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting hybrid environments or integrating with public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Familiarity with automation and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Power Shell, Python).
- Experience in regulated or high‑availability environments.
