Key Responsibilities
- Administer, optimize, and secure SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases supporting USDA NRCS mission‑critical applications.
- Lead performance tuning, capacity planning, and high‑availability implementations across on‑prem and cloud (AWS RDS, Azure SQL) environments.
- Implement Dev Sec Ops practices: automated provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code for database deployments.
- Collaborate with software developers and architects to modernize legacy systems, ensuring data governance, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Maintain database documentation, disaster recovery plans, and conduct regular security assessments.
- 5+ years DBA experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
- Proficiency in cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL) and migration strategies.
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops tools (Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines.
- US citizenship or permanent residency required; USDA Public Trust clearance preferred.
