Business Systems Analyst; New Grad

Job Overview

Business Systems Analyst I assists Business Systems Analyst II in gathering requirements and documenting functionality for software modifications or enhancements. The role may lead projects with support of team members and includes participation in customer projects or internal initiatives.

• Create and maintain functional specification documents for software products.
• Communicate with the Business Systems Analyst II and project stakeholders to gather requirements and achieve approval of functional specifications.
• Collaborate with the customer to define and simplify requirements.
• Coordinate with the project team to build the User Acceptance Test Plan.
• Develop system workflows that meet project requirements for each functional area.
• Create and maintain product‑level requirements, standard workflows, and module descriptions.
• Assist the QA group in developing test plans and performing testing.
• Participate in internal integration testing to ensure continuous control over materials and products.
• Support the Training and Development team with creation and maintenance of training materials.
• Provide customer training and support to Sales and Operations groups.
• Work with the project manager or Sales team on Software Change Requests.
• Assist in training Sales and Operations on new products or changes.
• Participate in on‑site training, testing, and project go‑live activities.
• Contribute to company education on software products through lunch‑time training sessions, email blasts, and other methods.
• Write user documentation and conduct end‑user training.
• Track and resolve open questions to see the project through completion of the Functional Specification phase.
• Maintain consistent communication with the BSA Team Lead and Manager regarding project status.

• 20% overnight travel (travel expenses paid by Bastian Solutions).

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems;
  Master’s degree a plus.
• Experience dealing directly with customers and developers.
• Performed requirements gathering and managed customers through a Functional Specification creation process.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of software design and databases.
• Excellent problem‑solving capability (business and technical).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with WMS, Supply Chain Management, and Logistics applications.
• High computer literacy and interest in automation technology.
• Eligibility to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
