Career Outcomes and Decision Support Analyst

Position Summary:

The Analyst is responsible for supporting the University of Georgia Career Center’s career outcomes initiative through data analytics, reporting, technology systems management, and digital solutions. The role collaborates with campus and external stakeholders to advance data-driven decision making and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and continuously improve the Career Outcomes Initiative.
  • Collect, combine, normalize, validate, and analyze career outcomes and student engagement data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, predictive analytics tools, and visualizations to support strategic decision‑making and operational planning.
  • Utilize enterprise analytics platforms (Qualtrics, Question Pro, Handshake, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server Suite) and other related technology systems.
  • Support survey development, administration, automation, and optimization to improve knowledge rates and reporting outcomes.
  • Monitor knowledge rates and data quality, implementing strategies to improve outcomes reporting and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with academic colleges, campus partners, and external organizations to expand participation and improve data collection efforts.
  • Provide reporting and data support for institutional initiatives, benchmarking projects, accreditation processes, and national surveys.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance web‑based tools, applications, and digital resources that support Career Center operations and analytics.
  • Maintain Career Center websites, databases, and data systems with a focus on usability, accessibility, and functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with university digital accessibility, security, and authentication standards.
  • Monitor and analyze website and application usage statistics to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with DAR IT and EITS to support technology infrastructure, system integrations, and security protocols.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies that improve analytics, communication, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide support for Career Center technology systems, hardware, software, and event‑related technology needs.
  • Assist with technology setup and troubleshooting for Career Center events, programs, and presentations.
  • Maintain technology documentation, inventories, and data dictionaries.
  • Manage, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees supporting data collection and analytics initiatives.
  • Coordinate student work assignments, schedules, training, and performance expectations.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings focused on project progress, accountability, and professional development.
  • Support Career Development Leadership initiatives and experiential learning opportunities for student staff.
  • Serve as liaison with the Registrar’s Office to obtain and process student data used for Handshake and career outcomes reporting.
  • Manage student record imports, data normalization, duplicate resolution, and system updates within Handshake.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and engagement analytics for Career Center staff and leadership.
  • Support event data tracking, attendance uploads, and related reporting functions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in data analytics, statistics, information systems, computer science, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with modern analytics, data integration, and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server suite).
  • Experience developing dashboards, operational reports, and ad hoc analyses for leadership decision‑making.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and effective storytelling for executive and public audiences.
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling, and exposure to applied AI.
  • Experience integrating and managing data from multiple sources, including survey platforms (Qualtrics, Question Pro), CRM or career management systems (Handshake), and external datasets.
  • Experience supporting cloud‑based analytics, automation, and real‑time reporting solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy (FERPA), and digital accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA).
  • Working familiarity with web development concepts, CMS platforms, responsive design principles, version control (Git), and API integrations.
