ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe employee in this position will have the following primary job functions:
- Serve as the primary administrator of the technology asset management system.
- Receive and process new technology purchases, collect system information and populate in the asset management system, and tag all equipment with SBTS asset tags.
- Track names, serial numbers, user assignments, equipment locations, warranty information, and lifecycle status for all technology equipment.
- Develop and implement procedures to regularly audit the asset management system to ensure ongoing accuracy of information.
- Develop and track processes for ensuring proper disposal of retired technology equipment, including data removal, spare component harvesting, and equipment recycling.
- Coordinate with faculty and staff to schedule equipment replacements and deployments based on life cycles and staffing changes.
- Provide inventory life cycle information to faculty and staff.
- Research potential technology purchase options and make recommendations based upon specifications and pricing.
- Provide regular reports on warranty expirations, inventory utilization, and equipment pricing trends.
The ideal candidate in this position will have experience in project coordination, record-keeping, inventory management, and/or administration. This person must be detail-oriented and able to complete objectives through personal initiative. The successful candidate must also be able to communicate with faculty and staff in a friendly and professional manner. Experience in information technology, such as helpdesk support, is a plus.
