Position Summary
The IT Co-op provides hands-on support to the Information Technology team while gaining practical experience in enterprise IT operations, user support, hardware and software troubleshooting, systems administration, cybersecurity practices, documentation, and project coordination. Under the direction of the IT Manager and designated IT team members, the IT Co-op will assist with day-to-day support requests, workstation setup, asset tracking, application support, process documentation, and technology improvement initiatives.
This position is intended to provide meaningful technical experience while supporting the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT services across the organization.
- Assist with help desk support, including basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, network connectivity, and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Support workstation deployments, equipment setup, imaging, peripheral configuration, and user onboarding/offboarding tasks.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records, inventory information, equipment assignments, and related documentation.
- Assist with routine system administration tasks under supervision, including account updates, permissions requests, software installations, and device configuration.
- Help document IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, checklists, and knowledge base articles to improve consistency and team efficiency.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives by assisting with user awareness activities, endpoint checks, patching follow-up, and security best-practice documentation.
- Participate in IT projects such as hardware refreshes, application rollouts, process improvements, network updates, and reporting activities.
- Provide professional, timely, and courteous support to internal customers while escalating issues appropriately when additional assistance is required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Currently enrolled in a college, university, or technical program pursuing a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, Windows operating systems, networking concepts, and common business applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Ability to follow documented procedures, ask appropriate questions, and learn new technical concepts quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle company information, user accounts, and equipment responsibly.
