Junior Systems Administrator

• Work daily within systems such as servers, switches, and databases
• Prepare reports in requested formats and time frames
• Manipulate and extract database data using MySQL for business intelligence and custom reporting
• Develop automation scripts using Power Shell, Bash, and Batch
• Monitor and configure network infrastructure, including switches, access points, and DHCP
• Assist with Active Directory management, user provisioning, access permissions, and Windows/Linux server operating systems
• Manage assigned daily tickets
• Document processes and systems
• Collaborate with teams to deliver projects and data
• Research administrative system issues and products
• Develop or assist with department policies and procedures
• Maintain knowledge of department services, operations, and projects and update management
• Participate in meetings aligning department and agency or college goals
• Conduct regular evaluations of services and adjust as needed
• Maintain relationships with internal and external customers and serve as a liaison
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED and one year of work-related experience
• Alternatively, high school diploma and certifications in related fields; experience may substitute for certifications
• Preferred: associate degree or higher and certifications in related fields
• Preferred: three years of full-time experience installing and maintaining servers, networks, computers, and databases
• Industry certifications such as MCSE or CCNA preferred
• MySQL database management experience
• Strong Power Shell scripting and Python experience; ability to write a basic script from scratch on demand
• Cisco networking experience and familiarity with Cisco IOS, IOS XE, and NX-OS CLI
• Experience with Cisco cloud platforms such as Meraki and Intersight
• Linux experience, including CLI
• Virtualization proficiency;
  Nutanix and VMware experience a plus
• Data center infrastructure experience with rack/blade servers, network switches, and SANs
• Experience with application deployment, compliance, and software updates using Intune, PDQ, or SCCM
• Experience with Active Directory, Entra , Microsoft 365, and cloud compute platforms
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet diverse student needs
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service, collaboration, and communication abilities

Demonstrates expertise in MySQL database management, Power Shell scripting, and Cisco networking, with a strong focus on automation, system configuration, and customer service. Proven ability to collaborate effectively and manage diverse technical environments while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.
