Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company of Kentucky ("LMICK") is seeking to hire a full-time Legal Education and Engagement Manager
. The ideal candidate will thrive in an externally focused position engaging with current and potential insureds via a multifaceted approach, including but not limited to oral and written communications and presentations, in-person engagement(s), and via social media. In this role, the Legal Education and Engagement Manager will lead in the creation, drafting and presentation of continuing legal education materials and programs.
Further, the Legal Education and Engagement Manager will assist LMICK in its efforts to provide risk management and mitigation resources to current and potential insureds; to recruit new insureds, to preserve and augment its position and reputation as the Kentucky Bar Association-endorsed legal malpractice insurance carrier; and to provide exemplary service to its insureds.
- Develop, coordinate, and present (in person and virtually) continuing legal education ("CLE") programming and materials, focused on risk management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Draft and prepare monthly digital newsletter and other articles and communications as deemed necessary. Draft and prepare a variety of content for LMICK’s social media platforms focused on risk management and LMICK’s engagements across the Commonwealth.
- Collaborate with local bar-affiliated groups and other legal-related organizations throughout the Commonwealth to coordinate successful marketing and engagement activities and events.
- Participate in exhibiting and general marketing activities to support LMICK’s Marketing Director, enhance insured experience, and network with potential and existing insureds.
- Assist the Marketing Director in implementing effective marketing strategies, initiatives, pitches, ads, etc.
- Cultivate and develop new insureds and assist in the maintenance of relationships with existing insureds.
- Prepare and present reports to CEO and Board of Directors on successes in education of and engagement with current and potential insureds.
- Develop an understanding of the current lawyers’ professional liability ("LPL") insurance market in Kentucky, issues impacting lawyers, practice management needs, LPL insurance regulations, and overall industry trends.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school is required, and in good standing with the Kentucky Bar Association.
- Active Kentucky property and casualty agent license or willingness to obtain.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, written and oral communications and presentation skills, along with at least 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft
365 suite of products. - Significant experience with Canva or other presentation creation software preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel across the Commonwealth to present CLEs, exhibit at various events, engage with existing insureds and cultivate new insureds, including some overnight travel as required (approximately 40% of working hours involve travel).
- $90k - $100k anticipated annual salary plus fringe benefits.
- Modest bonus opportunities are available based on both individual and company performance.
