Overview
Bio-Medical Equipment Service Co. is seeking an experienced Biomedical Purchasing Inventory Specialist to support our expanding Service Depot. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end material acquisition lifecycle—including supplier vetting, sourcing, cost negotiation, purchasing, and final receipt verification. We are looking for a trustworthy, detail-oriented, and highly driven professional to help us fulfill our vital mission of keeping medical equipment healthy for patient care.
Location: On-Site Louisville, KY
Responsibilities- Source, qualify, and manage vendors to drive cost, quality, and timing compliance
- Forecast material requirements and maintain inventory levels to support production needs
- Set minimum/maximum reorder points and coordinate with vendors and purchasing departments to ensure timely replenishment
- Perform all purchasing activities to ensure timely delivery of parts, supplies, and equipment
- Negotiate competitive pricing, favorable terms, and risk reduction
- Perform all receiving activities including physical intake of goods, verification against purchase orders, system receiving entry, discrepancy communication, and items put away
- Assist with regular inventory audits and cycle counts
- Timely reconciliation of any discrepancies in purchase orders and inventory counts
- Assist with technician replacement parts and supply fulfillment requests while ensuring inventory accuracy
- Monitor, analyze, and drive KPIs for vendor performance, material flow, and inventory accuracy
- Assist with various departmental activities and functions as needed
- Support cross-departmental collaboration and continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure compliance with BMES policies, procedures, and Quality Management System
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Procurement and/or supply chain experience (production or service environment preferred)
- Strong relationship, negotiation and organizational skills
- Skilled in problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Solid understanding and ability to execute best practices in procurement, receiving and inventory processes
- Skilled in analyzing material usage, cost, and inventory data to inform decision making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Adapts as needed to a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Willingness to build trust with fellow team members, produce results, and accept ownership of responsibilities, performance, and actions
- Exhibits objectivity and openness to others views and ideas
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft applications (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and remain on your feet throughout the workday
