Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc., is hiring a Tool Room Attendant for our Machine Shop. This position is responsible for overseeing the inventory, distribution, and upkeep of tools, equipment, and supplies used in the machine shop. This role supports efficient operations by ensuring tools are readily available, monitoring usage, and maintaining compliance with safety and company standards. The position also involves issuing purchase orders to vendors within defined guidelines and fostering strong vendor relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of necessary materials.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • I ssue tools, parts, and materials to shop personnel as needed and maintain accurate records.
  • Organize and store tools and equipment to prevent damage or loss.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of tools to ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist with inventory management, including tracking usage and restocking supplies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify tooling needs for specific projects.
  • Issue purchase orders to vendors within established guidelines and parameters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with current vendors to ensure reliable sourcing of tools and supplies.
  • Address vendor-related issues, including order discrepancies or delays, to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards by inspecting tools and equipment regularly.
  • Support periodic audits of tool inventory and usage.
  • Keep the tool room clean, organized, and secure.
  • Assist in the calibration of tools and schedule necessary repairs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial tools and equipment .
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail .
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with vendor management or purchasing is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production needs.
