V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Sr Director of Payroll for our premier client in Louisville, Kentucky.
Education And Experience- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
- 10 - 15 years of payroll experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ of multi-state payroll experience.
- At least 5 years of management experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of wage and hour laws and multi-state taxation.
- Knowledge of payroll systems; experience with SAP/Success Factors and Work Force Software timekeeping highly preferred.
- Experience with equity compensation, executive compensation, 401(k) deferrals, deferred compensation plans, etc.
- Understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and labor laws.
- Strong MS Excel spreadsheet knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills including written and oral communications.
- Exceptionally detail oriented, professional attitude, strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to be independent and thorough in examination and analysis.
- Commitment to the review, audit, and verification to ensure 100% accuracy for every payroll.
- Strong work ethic and ability to cultivate working relationships throughout the organization.
- Ideally has experience with SAP Success Factors and ADP for processing payroll (but this is not a deal breaker)
- Payroll team is small and lean
- Need someone who can work in trenches and will be okay working long hours and occasionally weekends if there are issues, ideally the right person will create a strategic process that this will go away
- Payroll team is 4 people, so again very lean and needs management/leadership experience
- What they have liked from previous candidates (From CFO).
- Ran small payroll team, has led / supported a payroll transition to Workday) and his style.
- Needs courage and confidence - critical for leadership in this role.
- Understands Stock programs, executive stock programs.
- Success Factors system integration headache is almost over.
- Degree NOT from an online program.
- Ideally in a Director or Senior Manager role currently.
- They have around 6000 people here at a time.
- Different payroll schedules
- Tips, commission, etc.
- Manage all functions of payroll operations ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and on time while identifying opportunities for process improvement, including coordination with Corporate and property Human Resource teams.
- Manage the performance of all direct reports. Hire, train and provide on-going development opportunities for payroll staff and serve as escalation point for complex payroll issues and inquiries.
- Partner with the Accounting Department to verify payroll accounts are reconciled properly and that all payments are reflected accurately on each employee’s record.
- Identify and establish auditing practices and procedures.
- Document and maintain internal controls over financial reporting for the payroll cycle for all locations.
- Process year round payroll, year-end reporting and systems reports as requested or needed.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure service levels are met and oversee system integrations with SAP (i.e. ADP, Fidelity).
