About Hildegard House
Hildegard House (HH) is Kentucky's first and only Comfort Care Home. Through the support of our community and with the help of many volunteers, we provide a home and compassionate care for individuals at the end of life who have no home or loved ones to care for them, allowing each of them to die with dignity. We are family to our residents in the final stages of their life.
Hildegard House provides short‑term, end‑of‑life care to adults of all ages who are first enrolled with Hosparus Health of Louisville. This cooperative relationship allows us to fill a critical gap in care without duplicating services. Hildegard House is comprised of two homes, both located in a quaint section of the historic Butchertown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. Each of our homes provides three rooms for residents.
The homes also house our volunteer training room, offices, laundry, and storage on the second floor. Hildegard House recently purchased a third building that will allow the organization to expand training opportunities and even expand earned revenue. Our vision is to be the premier provider and advocate for comfort care in the region. Learn more about Hildegard House dehttps://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
The next CEO of Hildegard House (HH) will step into a pivotal leadership role at a moment of stability, growth, and meaningful transition. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors and supported by two volunteer coordinators, a house manager, part‑time nurses & nursing assistants, plus deeply committed volunteer caregivers, the CEO will guide HH as it evolves to meet the changing needs of a nonprofit comfort care home.
The retirement of the founding CEO creates a unique opening for a visionary leader to build upon a decade of mission‑driven success and to chart the organization’s future direction.
In this role, the CEO will be responsible for shaping and executing strategic priorities that advance HH’s mission, expand its reach, and strengthen its role as a premier provider and advocate for comfort‑focused end‑of‑life care. This includes oversight of organizational strategy, financial performance, fundraising initiatives, community partnerships, governance, and comprehensive resident care.
The CEO will serve as HH’s chief ambassador‑representing the organization throughout the Kentucky and Indiana communities, elevating its visibility, and nurturing relationships that support growth and innovation. Working closely with the Board, the CEO will set strategic direction, champion best practices, cultivate a thriving volunteer ecosystem, and ensure that HH continues to deliver compassionate, dignified care to residents at the end of life.
This is an opportunity for a mission‑driven, relationship‑oriented leader to advance a beloved and impactful organization, leveraging its strong foundation to shape its next chapter of service, advocacy, and regional leadership in comfort care.
