Manufacturing Operations
  • Manages all maintenance/SBM/RHB/IM operations within appropriate process guidelines and budgets.
  • Oversees all cost control/justification for department, including purchasing of machine repair parts.
  • Develops and implements modifications and improvements, recommending specifications and scheduling for new projects and process improvements.
  • Schedules daily repair activities.
  • Maintains preventive maintenance program and ensures these are performed as scheduled.
  • Supervises and inspects repair and maintenance work to ensure effective, efficient and up‑to‑date practices.
  • Reviews and analyzes maintenance work orders to ensure proper repair and identify trends in machine issues.
  • Maintains work order system.
  • Meets with vendors and suppliers to ensure best price/quality on all parts and/or repair orders.
  • Maintains and ensures organization of part inventory.
  • Maintains physical plant including grounds.
  • Coordinates with outside repair vendors and ensures their work is completed according to standard procedures.
  • Ensures that all employees adhere to safety guidelines and conform to Safety Absolutes.
  • Supervises and ensures product quality meets customer specifications.
  • Works with Corporate Engineering on new installation/refurbishment projects.
  • Monitors daily scrap and regrind totals to maximize material usage and minimize scrap.
  • Meets with customers to ensure quality is maintained and expectations are met.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP).
Personnel
  • Lead staff to accomplish activities efficiently and safely by ensuring employees are working safely and have appropriate safety instructions and PPE.
  • Achieve a goal of zero recordable and lost time accidents.
  • Provide definitions of job duties and training for all employees to ensure skills are adequate.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage performance opportunities.
  • Define criteria for personnel advancement and administer coaching/counseling as required in a timely manner.
  • Enforce personnel policies and procedures and complete associated paperwork timely.
  • Assist in selection of staff and control overtime hours.
Manufacturing Support
  • Assist other departments with special projects as assigned.
  • Actively participate in production and safety management team meetings as requested.
Authorities
  • Authority to shut down production or stop any machine for any reason deemed necessary.
  • Perform essential functions and duties while communicating deviations from requirements to management.
  • Report safety concerns to management and shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard.
  • Stop production or shut down equipment for any machine malfunction deemed to be a safety risk.
Qualification Requirements

Education: BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Technical

Skills:

  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinates.
  • Processing knowledge of injection molding, stretch blow molding and reheat and blow molding equipment.
  • Preventative Maintenance Program development.
