Maintenance Technician II (Night shift)

Pay: $34.25/hr + $1.00/hr Shift Differential (8:00pm - 8:00am).

What you’ll do:
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on buildings and grounds.
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Assist the Production Department with die assembly, die cleanup, startups, and shutdowns.
  • Perform tool changes on Belling machines and perforators when required.
  • Monitor stock levels of maintenance supplies and spare parts and inform the supervisor of items needing to be ordered.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
What you’ll bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must supply own hand tools and toolbox.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with installation, dis–assembly, and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong basic math skills for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment, comfort with multiple competing demands, and ability to handle frequent changes, delays or unexpected events calmly and logically.

Within 3 months, you’ll:
  • Complete any required training.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well‑versed in Atkore’s Business System and understand the importance of your role to daily operations.
