Responsibilities
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (e.g., repairing drywall, painting, electrical work, and woodwork).
- Clean and assist with the upkeep of the facilities.
- Ensure that day‑to‑day duties and all other assigned tasks are completed as required.
- Perform pipe and groove threading.
- Verify measurements and dimensions of each workpiece using rulers, measuring tapes, or squares.
- Assemble product components according to blueprints for proper alignment by using tools such as a hammer, pry bar, jack, wedge, or other appropriate tools.
- Mark cutting points and utilize tools to manipulate materials like steel, plastic, or other substances by cutting, hammering, bending, or grinding the workpiece.
- Utilize furnaces or hand torches to heat materials for increased flexibility, facilitating bending and manipulation to meet specifications.
- Review blueprints, drawings, and other specifications before commencing fabrication work and at each step to ensure accurate completion.
- Operate fabrication machinery, including grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, and flame cutters, to cut, bend, grind, and adjust materials.
- Maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and management.
- A minimum education level of a high school diploma or GED is required for this position.
- At least two years of experience in fabrication is required.
- Capable of comprehending and interpreting blueprints and work specifications.
- Completion of a welding certification is preferred, but is not required.
- Skilled in the use of both hand and power tools.
- Adequate knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Capable of lifting up to 80 pounds and accustomed to standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction tasks and industrial processes.
- Exceptional color vision and manual dexterity, keen attention to detail.
- Pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Candidates must exhibit a strong commitment to dependable attendance.
- Adhere to the rules and regulations as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
