Maintenance Person
The Maintenance Person (Mechanical) has a broad range of skill requirements, duties, and responsibilities. The Maintenance Person many times is required to work independently or with the assistance of a system production operator. Many times the Maintenance Person will be assigned to work with one or more other mechanically skilled persons i.e. other Maintenance Person, Electrician/Instrumentation Person, Engineer, etc. in the performance of their duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, erect, construct, and/or replace plant equipment such as forming machines, platforms, dryers, mixers, tanks, vessels, piping, pumps, motors, belts, etc. and perform routine maintenance work as needed
• Read, understand, and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and other written instructions
• Occasionally assist, trains, and guides less experienced employees in specific skills and/or duties
• Develop materials list, this includes tools, equipment, parts, etc. for projects
• Perform detailed measurements utilizing various measurement devices; i.e. tape, transit, calipers, dial indicators, micrometer, depth gauge, etc.
• Perform field-routing of piping and perform pipe fitting; i.e. thread piping & weld piping
• Perform welding and cutting utilizing various types of welding and cutting equipment; i.e. MIG, TIG, rod, arc, wet saw, band saw, flicker saw, hacksaw, circular saw, acetylene/oxygen torch, plasma-torch, etc.
• Utilize heavy lifting equipment, i.e. crane and/or a fork truck to off load equipment and supplies from delivery vehicles
• Utilize heavy lifting equipment, i.e. crane and/or fork truck to set equipment, piping, platforms, materials, etc. into place – from ground level to multi-story placement
• Utilize the following Mobile Heavy Equipment:
• Cranes, Fork Trucks, Snorkel Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Bobcat, etc.
• Utilize the following Power Tools:
• Band Saw, Power Drill, Grinders, Mag Drill, Hilti Drill, Drill Press, Hydraulic Press, Pipe Threading Machine, Lathe, etc.
OTHER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned
• Maintain Proper Housekeeping of Work Area
• Participate in Performance Dialogue and other teamwork activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or GED and Post secondary trade school or technical college education
• Three or more years of industrial maintenance experience
• Skill in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Outlook, and SAP work order system, or comparable computer software
• Maintain qualification in Confined Space entry procedures (Attendant, Entrant, and Supervisor), Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, Hot Work procedures, Fork Truck operations, and be willing and able to Safely Perform as leader or participant in all of the above
• Solid working knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and procedures and pneumatic equipment (a written and/or practical knowledge skills assessment may be utilized to assess knowledge proficiency)
• Ability to safely and accurately troubleshoot and correct equipment malfunctions; perform system startups from manuals, schematics, other reference materials, or contact manufactures tech support for help
