Senior Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of our manufacturing operations. This position serves as a technical leader within the maintenance department, responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment while mentoring junior technicians and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong multi-craft maintenance skills with experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, machinery, facility systems, and support equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, drives, and other industrial equipment.
- Lead equipment installations, upgrades, maintenance projects, and process improvement initiatives.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and engineering documentation.
- Support root cause analysis efforts and implement long-term corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
- Develop and support preventive maintenance schedules and equipment reliability programs.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, engineering, and management teams.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and apprentices.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history documentation.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, maintenance supplies, and tooling requirements.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations during scheduled and on-call hours.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, maintenance procedures, and Federal and State regulations.
- Recommend equipment and process improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school certification, trade certification, or Associate Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facility maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical schematics
- Blueprints
- Technical drawings
- Equipment manuals
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms.
- Knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Previous experience leading maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)
- Industrial Maintenance Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Electrical Certification
- HVAC Certification
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in manufacturing and industrial environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
