As a Production Machine Operator II, you will work with raw materials to complete mix formulas, mix ingredients to complete batches, and package or palletize materials for shipping. You will also learn and rotate between multiple positions to develop cross‑functional skills and support operational needs across the department.
Shift ScheduleThursday – Saturday 5:42 pm – 6:12 am. All overtime is scheduled per the UFCW Contract.
Qualifications- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports.
- Effective communication with team members.
- Basic math skills in all units of measure.
- Common‑sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Problem‑solving skills in variable situations.
- Teamwork and independent work skills.
- Forklift certification is helpful; must be able to become certified.
- Computer skills helpful.
- Preferred:
High school diploma or GED.
- Ensure all products meet specifications, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Rotate between positions to build cross‑functional knowledge and support operational flexibility.
- Maintain high-performance standards in housekeeping, complying with GMP, AIB, IFS, and HACCP requirements.
- Operate computer systems accurately as required in production processes.
- Operate auxiliary equipment as needed.
- Operate safely according to manuals, training, and batch card instructions.
- Execute SSOPs and GMP, including pre‑start checklists, scale checks, forklift checklists, code dates on labels, lot numbers, batch verification counts, etc.
- Communicate quality, safety, scheduling, and food‑safety issues to lead or supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Adhere to Food Defense and Security functions.
- Follow guidelines outlined in the job description.
- Perform all functions of the role and other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate Dawn Values and support the Circle of Excellence.
- Regular standing, walking, using hands to grasp, move, or utilize objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; talking and hearing.
- Climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasional sensory perception for quality measurement.
- Regular lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; frequent lifting or moving 25 pounds.
- Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focusing capability.
