CNC Machinist, Machine Operator, Production QC/QA
Job Summary
Machinist II independently sets up and operates machining equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce complex parts to specification. This role demonstrates strong troubleshooting ability, ensures quality standards are consistently met, and supports continuous improvement on the shop floor. Hourly range: $27.06 - $29.87 (Based on experience).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Independently set up and operate CNC and/or manual machines for a variety of parts.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T symbols, and work instructions.
- Perform CNC program edits and basic programming as needed.
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds to optimize production and quality.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain output.
- Perform advanced inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools.
- Ensure first‑piece and in‑process inspections meet quality standards.
- Reduce scrap and rework through proactive problem‑solving.
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation in ERP/data systems.
- Assist in training and mentoring MachinistI employees.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safely operate material‑handling equipment (forklift, hoists, etc.) as trained.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–5 years of machining experience preferred.
- Proficient in blueprint reading.
- Working knowledge of CNC programming and offset.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials. - Fanuc controls proficiency a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine machining issues.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
Work Environment Requirements
- Position requires standing at all times.
- Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs most of the time and over 50 lbs occasionally.
- Position requires pushing and pulling most of the time.
- Position will have exposure to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, oil, and grease at all times.
- Position will have exposure to smoke at times.
