Role Overview
As a Public Relations & Communications Assistant, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting PR campaigns, event coordination, and community outreach, including:
- Event communications and public relations strategy
- Nonprofit advocacy and community engagement
- Brand messaging and promotional campaigns
Key Responsibilities
- Support public relations campaigns, event planning, and community outreach initiatives
- Represent nonprofit partners at community events, fundraisers, and promotional activations
- Assist with press kits, outreach materials, and public-facing content
- Professionally engage with attendees, donors, volunteers, and media contacts
- Track campaign performance, engagement metrics, and event feedback
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance communication strategies and expand reach
- Friendly, confident, and motivated to learn
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Interest in events, nonprofit work, public relations, or community engagement
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or volunteer roles is a plus but not required
- 18+ years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Paid, hands-on training in PR, communications, event marketing, and nonprofit outreach
- Exposure to high-visibility nonprofit campaigns and community initiatives
- Fast-track career advancement into PR coordination, leadership, or management roles
- A collaborative, supportive, and team-oriented environment
- Real-world experience building career-ready PR and communications skills while creating social impact
