Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA) is a non-profit organization spanning four states that creates positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service. We provide housing for families, veterans, and low-income seniors. We provide care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, healing accountability that brings people together with restorative justice, and free HIV testing and education.

JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS
:
Service Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring maximum utilization of community resources by residents of Volunteers of America Mid-States’ housing programs for the elderly or disabled. This utilization of resources is aimed at maximizing residents’ length of stay within the housing programs by stabilizing and/or enhancing quality of life.
What you should have for this role
:
This position requires a Bachelor of Social Work or degree in Gerontology, Psychology, or Counseling. The position requires a reasonable combination of the following skills and knowledge base: the aging process, elder services, disability services, eligibility for and procedures of Federal and applicable State entitlement programs, legal issues, drug and alcohol abuse, poverty, and mental health issues. At least two years experience in social service delivery with senior citizens or non-elderly disabled persons is preferred.
