Youth Build Louisville is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through education, job training, leadership development, and community service. Serving young adults ages 16–24, the program provides opportunities to earn a GED or high school diploma while gaining hands‑on training in construction, horticulture, and other career pathways. With a focus on leadership, responsibility, and personal growth, Youth Build Louisville equips students with the academic, professional, and life skills needed to succeed in post‑secondary education, the workforce, and beyond.

The program emphasizes both individual transformation and community impact, empowering students to become engaged, self‑sufficient leaders. The VISTA will strengthen the organization’s sustainability by improving systems for data management, donor engagement, and event coordination. You’ll review and standardize databases to ensure accurate records, create donor stewardship and communication tools to build lasting relationships, and design event planning and evaluation systems that enhance quality and impact.

By documenting processes and training staff, you will ensure long‑term use of these tools beyond your service year.

The Ameri Corps VISTA will strengthen Youth Build Louisville’s sustainability by improving systems for data management, donor engagement, and event planning. They will clean and standardize the database, document processes, and train staff to ensure accurate, consistent records. The VISTA will also compile a donor stewardship guide, create an engagement calendar, design communication templates, and produce impact reports to highlight successes and deepen donor relationships.

To enhance events, they will build toolkits, communication strategies, and feedback surveys that improve execution and evaluation. By the end of the service term, the VISTA will leave behind sustainable systems that increase data reliability, strengthen donor connections, and expand the impact of organizational events—advancing Youth Build Louisville’s mission to empower young people.
