School Float Nurse; Day Shift - RN​/LPN

Job description:

Immediate Need for School Float Nurse (RN - Registered Nurse) or (LPN
- Licensed Practical Nurse) in the Louisville KY area.

Hourly Pay RN: $32-$38 and LPN $28-$32.

Bright Star Care Louisville is hiring for an RN or LPN School Float Nurse for the school district of Jefferson County Public School (JCPS). The RN/LPN school float nurse must be flexible and willing to work in various JCPS schools, providing 1:1 care and/or general school nursing duties as needed throughout the school day of M-F.

Requirements:

• Current unrestricted RN or LPN license in Kentucky
• Pediatric Experience preferred
• Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x‑ray
• Minimum one (1) year of documented experience
• Experience with g‑tubes, trachs/vent, seizure monitoring with rescue medications, diabetic care, etc.
• Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for g‑tubes, trachs/vent, seizure monitoring with rescue medications,diabetic care, etc.
• Ensure health & safety of student throughout school day
• Monitor and track changes in the client/patient’s conditions and needs
• Document in EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
• Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and organization skills needed

compensation may vary based on skill, experience and location.

Weekly schedule:

• Monday to Friday (Shift varies with school hours - 8AM start / 3PM-5PM end)

Experience:

• Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)
• Pediatric Experience (Preferred)

License/Certification:
