The Brook – Dupont, located in Louisville, KY, is an 88-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adults.
The Registered Nurse (RN) participates in treatment planning as a member of the interdisciplinary team; provides assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physicians; assesses, directs, and intervenes in crisis situations; provides and directs milieu management, and performs additional tasks as needed. Best candidates will have behavioral health experience, a strong work ethic, and consistently punctual attendance.
KeyDuties
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal implications of nursing practice in the performance of duties.
- Delegates tasks and verifies completion.
- Demonstrates full level of awareness of unit milieu and provides appropriate guidance to staff.
- Establishes priorities concerning total unit milieu.
- Serves as primary channel of communication between shifts for patient care units and between departments during scheduled shift.
- Observes and interprets each patient’s behavior, demonstrating an understanding of psychiatric concepts, diagnoses, and developmental stage.

- 30% shift differential for RNs working 7p-7a
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school (associate’s degree) required; BSN preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kentucky required.
- Minimum of one year related experience required; psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Night shift hours: 7p-7a (rotating weekends required).
- Must be available to attend full hospital and departmental orientations:
Week 1, M-F 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
