Loyal Source Government Services is looking for full-time Certified Nursing Assistants to provide onsite patient care services at The Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville, Kentucky.

Job Summary

Certified Nursing Assistants must provide necessary onsite services to our Veteran population located at The Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville, Kentucky. Certified Nursing Assistants are required to deliver high‑quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals. A CNA focuses on the care of veterans so patients may attain, maintain, or recover to optimal health and quality of life.

Pay: $18.44

Duties
  • Provide close observation of patients. Document on patients' observation flow sheet hourly or as directed by RN to document patient behavior, Activity of Daily Living, and physical care. Documentation requirements can occur every 15 minutes as delegated by the nurse or charge nurse.
  • Delivery of direct patient care to include personal hygiene care (bathing, dressing, toileting), assistance with meals, lifting and moving, and assistance with ambulation.
  • Assist in the full range of nursing care to patients/residents with physical and/or behavioral problems in a hospital, long‑term care setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, to include, but not limited to, taking measures, records and reports of weight, height, vital signs, intake and output, foley care, collecting urine, stool and sputum tests, setting up and monitoring wall and tank oxygen, and collecting and assembling chest suction equipment.
  • Communicate orally with patients/residents, families, interdisciplinary team and other personnel. This includes serving as a preceptor to new CNAs by assisting with the coordination of their orientation and overseeing/assessing their practical experience while in a clinical setting.
  • Recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while awaiting assistance. Examples include recognizing need for basic life support, preventing falls, controlling bleeding, and assisting with behavior crises.
  • Report changes in mental or physical status immediately to the assigned nurse/charge nurse.
Qualifications
  • Current BLS certificate by the American Heart Association or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant within the last three (3) years.
  • Three (3) professional references.
  • Current license as a Certified Nursing Assistant in any State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property.
  • Technically proficient in skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
Additional Information
  • Multiple shifts including Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 3 p.m. – 11 p.m., 11 p.m. – 7 a.m., 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 7 a.m., excluding Federal holidays.
  • CNAs shall provide a tour consisting of eight (8) working hours with a 30‑minute meal break (non‑paid) and two 15‑minute breaks (paid).
