Healthcare Nursing, RN Nurse
Job Summary
This role promotes health and safety to all employees by facilitating an employee health program that includes disease detection, prevention, and treatment. The nurse will provide patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Standards for Nursing Practice. The incumbent follows up on employee illnesses and injuries, assists licensed and ancillary team members, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and coordinates delivery of the plan of care.
Education- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of clinical, occupational health and/or employee health experience.
Certifications- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
- Occupational Health certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities
- Gather and integrate patient data to assist in the development and implementation of individualized plans of care
- Delegate and assign appropriate nursing interventions to licensed and unlicensed team members within their scope of practice
- Administer indications and prescribed therapies utilizing appropriate reference materials (e.g., PDR, nurses drug guide, C‑DAN Manual)
- Evaluate progress toward expected outcomes throughout the continuum of care and collaborate in the revision of plans of care as indicated
- Promote health and safety to all employees based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients/customers served in the assigned area
- Communicate critical information to team members, patients and families
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge and certification through continuing education and personal development
- Coordinate monthly tuberculosis screening program
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction, and communication style, and requesting permissions as appropriate
- Perform other related duties as required
Medium work: occasional exertion of 20–50 pounds, frequent exertion of 10–25 pounds, and/or continuous exertion of ≤10 pounds. The job may involve walking or standing for significant periods, pushing or pulling, and working at a production rate pace. Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste may occur.
