American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Main PACU unit of a hospital setting
- 2:1 patient ratio
- Mid shift schedule from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM
- 36 hours per week across 3 shifts of 12 hours each
- Call requirements include 3-5 weeknight shifts (8:30 PM-7:00 AM) within a 6-week schedule period
- Weekend call requirement of approximately 2-4 single shifts within a 6-week schedule period
- Nights, weekends, and holidays are covered on a call-only basis
- Uses Epic EMR
- RN manages vents, CPAP, epidurals, A-lines, and PICCs
- Performs blood draws, feeding tube management, PCA pump management, trach care, and rapid infuser use
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Strong PACU skills required, including post-anesthesia recovery care
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to a group of patients with a focus on safe, effective, patient and family-centered care
- Perform assessments and reassessments per policy and as warranted by patient condition
- Initiate, prioritize, and implement plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor and document patient response to clinical interventions
- Facilitate and provide patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and serve as a mentor/preceptor
- Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
- Comply with regulatory standards and participate in the facility's Practice Governance model
- Galaxy Blue scrubs required (not provided)
