Job Description Summary

The RN Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all clinical efforts to ensure UofL Health meets the standards of evidence‑based practice and clinical excellence. This role establishes and maintains best practices for specialty clinic patient care in collaboration with leadership, physicians, support services, and nursing staff. The coordinator also facilitates interdepartmental functions to ensure smooth operations.

• Assist in developing nursing policies, procedures, and practice standards for the specialty clinic program, in collaboration with program physicians.
• Review current policies annually and work with the practice committee to revise specialty program policies, incorporating up-to-date literature and other resources.
• Develop and coordinate educational programs for team members caring for specialty program patients at all facilities.
• Assess educational needs and conduct quality monitoring to identify gaps in specialty care.
• Develop and coordinate patient, family, and community education, ensuring protocols are implemented and patient concerns are addressed.
• Maintain effective communication among all multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in continuing education and self‑appraisal activities to maintain knowledge and skills and complete mandatory competencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of departmental information according to established procedures.
• Contribute to efficient department operations by completing special projects, preparing reports, identifying equipment problems, and assisting callers or visitors.
