American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN requiring KY or compact RN licensure and prior cath lab experience for a rotating schedule position with call coverage.
Details- Cath Lab unit within a hospital setting
- Performs left and right diagnostic and interventional heart caths, pacemaker and AICD implants, loop recorders, Impella placements, balloon pumps, TEEs, cardioversions, and tilt table procedures
- Cares for STEMI patients and performs peripheral IV access
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Uses IV pumps, groin and radial sheaths, Impellas, balloon pumps, IVUS, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, Zoll monitors, and hemodynamic systems
- Epic charting required
- Rotating schedule:
Week 1 Mon-Fri day shift ;
Week 2 Mon-Fri call coverage plus Sat/Sun - 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- Call coverage required as part of the rotating schedule
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with Impella operation, balloon pump operation, TEE procedures, cardioversion procedures, tilt table procedures, and STEMI patient care
- Experience operating IV pumps, groin and radial sheaths, IVUS, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, Zoll monitors, and hemodynamic systems
- Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
- Facilitates patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge planning
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and organizational needs
- Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
