Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute PCU experience and KY or compact RN licensure.

Details
  • 32-bed Advanced Surgical Med-Surg unit (7W-NWC) caring for bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgical patients
  • Patient ratio of 5-6:1
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
  • Manages TPN and pain medications
  • Performs PCA management, feeding tube care, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac care
  • Day shift schedule 6:45a-7:15p, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
  • Every other weekend required per unit need
Requirements
  • Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor
  • Provides patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and family needs
