The Louisville Zoo is seeking a passionate and skilled Keeper II to join our growing Ambassador Animal team within the Education Department. This position reports directly to the Ambassador Animal Supervisor and plays a key role in advancing animal welfare, conservation education, and guest engagement.
The Keeper II will provide daily care for a diverse and dynamic collection including raptors, parrots, skunks, a North American beaver, porcupine, sloths, snakes, small mammals, and additional ambassador species.
Responsibilities include:
- Animal husbandry
- Positive-reinforcement training
- Behavioral observation
- Enrichment development
- Participation in interpretive programming and animal encounters that connect guests to wildlife and conservation
As an AZA-accredited institution
, the Louisville Zoo is nationally recognized for its commitment to animal care, conservation, and education. The Zoo supports and participates in numerous Species Survival Plans (SSPs) and conservation initiatives locally and globally, and is known for award-winning habitats such as Glacier Run and Islands Pavilion
