Groundskeeper

Job Purpose

Responsibilities include maintaining the physical grounds of the hotel, including the parking lot and courtyard. The role of a grounds person must be attentive to detail to ensure a high-quality appearance of the entire property. The grounds person must be dexterous, with a fast pace and an ability to use different equipment when necessary.

• Ensuring that all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to by personal example
• Support full hotel compliance with safety rules to further our goal of zero (0) accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses
• Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required to ensure guest satisfaction and consistent service is delivered to our patrons
• Immediately report all injuries to Loss Prevention, as well as the manager on duty

• Responsible for maintaining and upkeep of the physical grounds of the hotel including parking lot and courtyard.
• Responsible for cutting grass and watering flowers.
• Perform daily inspection of physical grounds and equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean grounds including; sweeping curbs, cleaning parking lot and courtyard.
• Must be proficient with a variety of grounds keeping tools and equipment, such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc.
• Responds in a courteous manner to all guest questions, requests, and complaints.

• Zero to two years of experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping preferred.

• Under variable noise levels
• Around dust and mite hazards
• Around fumes and odor hazards
• Around chemicals
• Required to wear a company-provided uniform when applicable
• Working around moving machinery/heavy equipment
• Slippery and uneven walking surfaces
