Position Details:

- Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM
- Contract Duration: 6 Months
The Grosser Technician (Level 2 or
3) performs routine and complex laboratory grossing procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of animal health conditions. This role supports the Global Diagnostics division and partners closely with veterinary pathologists and laboratory personnel to ensure the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality. Level placement (2 or
3) will be determined based on experience and demonstrated subject matter expertise.

- Independently gross and dissect simple, complex level 1 panels, and complex level 2 specimens
- Accurately label, document, and maintain specimen records
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tissue fixation and handling
- Maintain laboratory logs including maintenance, environmental, and cleaning records
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance
- Properly handle, store, and dispose of biological and biohazardous materials in compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace
- Perform necropsy cases for further diagnostic analysis
- Conduct complex dissections
, including rare and challenging cases - Serve as a subject matter expert within the department
- Lead specimen grossing workflows and oversee multiple case types daily
- Assist in training and mentoring junior grossing technicians and laboratory aides
- Associate’s degree or equivalent required
- Minimum 2+ years of pathology laboratory experience (3+ years for Level
3) - Experience performing basic grossing operations
- High level of understanding of anatomy and grossing protocols
- Fluency in English
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Experience in veterinary pathology strongly preferred
- Experience with in animal health or diagnostic laboratory environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft platforms (Teams, Outlook, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Experience operating laboratory equipment and associated software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment
