Position SummaryThe PCS Scrubber Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of equipment that controls chemical and particle contamination within our semiconductor fabrication facility (Fab). This role blends engineering, process control, and quality assurance to keep clean rooms within strict contamination limits while keeping downtime and operating costs low.
Role and Responsibilities Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:Core Responsibilities Operation & Optimization
- Monitor scrubber performance metrics such as flow, pressure, and particle counts.
- Lead Kaizen and poka‑yoke activities to mitigate contamination trends.
- Draft, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Compile monthly KPI dashboards and validate SOP consistency.
- Assist with development preventive‑maintenance (PM) schedules for all scrubber components.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures using root‑cause analysis (5‑Why, Pareto, fishbone).
- Coordinate spare‑part logistics and inventory for critical items.
- Maintain detailed PM logs and corrective‑action records.
- Ensure scrubber operation meets site regulations and quality expectations.
- Keep audit‑ready records that demonstrate traceability for inspections.
- Produce QA audit findings and corrective‑action plans.
- Act as the technical liaison among fab engineers, maintenance staff, and suppliers.
- Lead cross‑functional project teams for equipment upgrades or replacements.
- Document project charters, meeting minutes, and deliverables.
- Build cost models for capital purchases, PM, and upgrade projects.
- Track spend and forecast future capital needs.
- Generate budget‑variance reports and ROI analyses.
- Deep familiarity with semiconductor fab processes (etch, implant, etc.) and scrubber subsystems.
- Understanding of fluid dynamics, particle control, and plasma‑related concepts.
- Ability to analyze equipment reliability data and identify improvement opportunities.
- Use structured root‑cause tools such as 5‑Why, Pareto charts, and fishbone diagrams.
- Apply data‑driven approaches (ANOVA, DOE, Six Sigma) to troubleshoot and refine processes.
- Manage PM schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Utilize Agile/Lean principles for fab‑equipment projects.
- Write clear technical documents: specifications, SOPs, reports.
- Deliver concise presentations to management, shift leads, and vendors.
- Adhere to OSHA, ISO, EPA, and in‑house chemical‑safety regulations.
- Maintain a safety‑first mindset in all activities.
Education
- A Bachelor’s or technical degree (or equivalent) is preferred;
Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Proven experience in a semiconductor fab or clean‑room environment, with a focus on equipment operation, maintenance, or design.
- Prior exposure to abatement or particle‑control equipment is strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30‑hour Industrial Safety (recommended).
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt (optional but advantageous).
- CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, Solid Works).
- Data analysis using MATLAB, Python, or equivalent.
- Basic PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell) and LabVIEW familiarity.
- Strong analytical mindset.

The current base salary range for this role is between $20.50 - $55.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
