Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Manager at our Elyria, OH site.

Job Summary:

This position provides quality leadership and has full responsibility for Quality at Elyria Site regarding the Quality Management System (QMS), customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and product life cycle from Product development, Production, Supply Chain to Aftermarket.

Job Duties:
  • Establish a zero defect culture by leading the deployment and continuous improvement of Quality Strategy based on AS9100 Quality Systems – Aerospace and AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning.
  • Achieve leading customer performance ratings through the implementation of Crane Business System and QMS, driving improvement in key customer metrics.
  • Proactively enforce accountability processes that enable prevention and control, drive daily performance and problem‑solving of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.
  • Develop and implement a quality organizational structure to support strategic initiatives and integrate quality into development of short‑ and long‑term business plans, including operating budget responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with Crane Aerospace and Electronics QMS, customer and industry specific quality requirements by establishing internal audit and assessment, and robust corrective action processes to validate and improve system effectiveness.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of measurement and monitoring systems to improve Site business key metrics and quality process metrics.
  • Implement Advanced Quality Planning using AS9145 in the Product Development Process (PDP) to verify appropriate processes and procedures are followed, meeting customer performance measures and enabling a zero‑defect transition to production.
  • Effectively manage supply chain quality performance over the lifecycle, ensuring purchased materials meet requirements and comply with applicable regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ME, MSc.) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quality in Aerospace and Defense; additional Automotive experience is a plus.
  • FAA requirements Title 14 CFR 21 (FSDO), Repair Station Title 14 CFR 145 experience (MIDO).
  • Expert level leadership in problem‑solving, Six Sigma, AS9145 APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, process control plans, process capability.
  • Experience with AS9100D QMS and in engine customer specific quality standards – Pratt & Whitney, Rolls‑Royce, GE, Safran, CFM.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Leadership and people development skills – roll up sleeves, establish a culture of quality integration into daily production issues and product development, and develop staff accordingly.
  • Collaborative relationship with other functions focused on solutions that meet internal and external quality requirements and business objectives.
  • Strong critical thinking and complex problem‑solving ability with a bias toward sense of urgency.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required.
  • Eligibility Requirement:
    This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Only U.S. Persons will be considered where such access is required; the position is a DoD contractor bound by ITAR.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NADCAP experience (special processes):
    Heat treating, NDT, EDM.
  • Certified FAA DMIR, ARD 8130-3 Conformity.
  • EASA Mag‑5 8130‑3 Repair and Overhaul.
  • CAAC CCAR‑145 trained.
  • AS13100 QMS Aero Engine Design and Production Organizations experience.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt.
