Laboratory Technician – (Quality Technician)
Seeking an experienced Quality Technician / Laboratory Technician to support quality control testing and laboratory operations at its Louisville manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for performing laboratory testing, documenting results, maintaining quality records in SAP, supporting non-conforming material investigations, and ensuring products meet quality specifications before release.
The ideal candidate will have extensive laboratory experience, strong analytical skills, SAP experience, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality control testing following established laboratory procedures.
- Conduct laboratory testing using equipment including:
Viscometer, Softening Point Tester, Gardner equipment, and other laboratory testing instruments. - Prepare laboratory samples according to established procedures.
- Complete required calibration, certification, and equipment verification before use.
- Prioritize testing based on production schedules, customer requirements, and R&D priorities.
- Ensure all testing is completed within required QC timelines.
- Accurately document laboratory testing results.
- Enter quality data, formulas, and testing information into SAP.
- Verify data accuracy before releasing materials.
- Maintain laboratory records and testing documentation.
- Review production data and quality records.
- Report out-of-specification materials and process deviations promptly.
- Manage Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR).
- Enter, assign, track, and close non-conforming material cases.
- Support investigations and root cause analysis activities.
- Communicate material issues to management in a timely manner.
- Participate as an active member of the HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Team.
- Attend HACCP/GMP/Food Safety meetings.
- Conduct GMP inspections.
- Perform Glass Inspection activities.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory quality standards.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization.
- Follow laboratory housekeeping standards.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
- Perform equipment calibration activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with plant equipment calibration as required.
- Complete additional quality-related duties assigned by management.
Manufacturing laboratory environment. Time-sensitive laboratory testing. Strong emphasis on data integrity and product quality. Products must be accurately tested before release for sale. Must maintain high levels of accuracy while meeting production deadlines.
Required Qualifications- Minimum 5+ years of laboratory experience using quality testing equipment.
- Experience with:
Viscometer, Softening Point testing, Gardner testing, and other laboratory quality equipment. - Quality Control or Laboratory Quality experience.
- SAP experience (required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in:
Chemistry, Biology, or Related Science Field. - Basic statistical knowledge including:
Control Charts, SPC, Cp/Cpk, Standard Deviation.
- Follow OSHA safety regulations.
- Follow EPA guidelines.
- Comply with Bostik Environmental Health & Safety policies.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping standards.
- Support HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety compliance initiatives.
