Position: Welding QA/QC Inspector (Fabrication)

A Day in the Life

From your first walk across the shop floor in Louisville, KY, you’re the person everyone trusts to keep weld quality uncompromised. You’ll move from station to station, reviewing setups, checking dimensions, and validating that every welded component aligns with specifications. You’ll capture what you see in the quality system, surface trends from the data, and partner with production to fine-tune processes before issues arise.

What

You’ll Tackle
  • Perform comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections of welded components against applicable standards and project specs.
  • Use measurement gauges, calipers, and micrometers to verify critical dimensions and weld attributes.
  • Analyze quality data to spot patterns, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with production to establish and refine welding setups that consistently produce in-spec parts.
  • Oversee material and consumable inventory control to support reliable welding operations.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to confirm requirements before and after fabrication.
  • Document findings and generate reports using quality control software.
  • Coach teammates on quality procedures and best practices to elevate shop-wide performance.
What You Bring
  • Hands-on background in quality inspection/quality control, ideally in a welding or fabrication setting.
  • Solid knowledge of welding production setups and how they affect downstream quality.
  • Proficiency with gauges, calipers, and micrometers for precise measurement.
  • Experience analyzing QC data and producing clear, actionable reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Comfort using quality control software and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving instincts, and a team-first mindset.
