The QC Technician performs daily laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to support production, quality assurance, and research and development activities. This position ensures that materials and products meet established quality, safety, and performance specifications while maintaining accurate records and supporting the reliable operation of laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to verify compliance with established quality, safety, and product specifications.
  • Perform chemical and physical analyses using approved methods, including titration, spectroscopy, elemental analysis, attrition testing, and other laboratory techniques.
  • Operate analytical instruments and laboratory equipment, including X-ray fluorescence (XRF) equipment with fluxer, titrators, atomic spectroscopy instruments, LECO high-temperature furnaces, and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) systems.
  • Accurately interpret, document, and communicate test results while maintaining complete records and sample traceability.
  • Identify anomalous or out-of-specification results, perform initial troubleshooting, and

  • Support investigations into quality deviations and assist with identifying appropriate corrective actions.
  • Perform routine instrument calibration, verification, and basic maintenance while maintaining accurate calibration and equipment records.
  • Assist with the development, validation, and implementation of laboratory test methods, quality-control procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to support manufacturing activities and resolve product-quality concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory in accordance with standard operating procedures, ISO requirements, and site safety standards.
  • Monitor laboratory chemicals, consumables, and testing supplies to ensure adequate inventory and proper storage.
  • Report safety incidents, near misses, equipment concerns, and testing issues promptly.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical technology, laboratory science, or a related discipline; equivalent laboratory experience may be considered.
  • One to three years of experience working in a quality-control, analytical, industrial, or manufacturing laboratory.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as XRF with fluxer, titrators, atomic spectroscopy, LECO analyzers, attrition-analysis equipment, or ICP systems.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, accurately interpret test results, troubleshoot routine laboratory issues, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety practices, standard operating procedures, quality systems, and calibration requirements.
