Abacus Solutions Group is looking to hire a Quality Supervisor in the Louisville, KY area.
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading Quality employees in both Audit and Inspection, engaging in continuous improvement efforts and ensuring high standards of quality and production. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supervising quality teams.
Essential Duties and Functions- Provide direction to quality employees and lead employee engagement.
- Direct day to day quality and production deliverables and initiatives.
- Hold employees accountable while maintaining a key working relationship.
- Provide expertise and leadership in the quality and compliance field.
- Understand processes, specification changes; know when change may have a possible effect on other areas.
- Identify opportunities to optimize inspection techniques and improve quality control procedures.
- Ensure measurement and testing equipment (e.g., calipers, gauges and blueprints)
- Be the primary point of contact between the Inspectors and Operations staff.
- Promptly escalating to the QA Supervisor/Manager any interpersonal or staff challenges
- Provide daily guidance, training and supervision to QA Inspectors to meet production throughput
- Handle Internal Audit / Assessment Activities as required.
- Interact as needed with customers, both proactively and reactively, to demonstrate Quality commitment.
- Supports activities to ensure communication between internal and external customer.
- Understand and adhere to local, State, and Federal regulations inclusive of, but not limited, to OSHA, DOT, EPA and other government agencies. Certification is required to handle any hazardous material(s).
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide timely feedback to team members
- Implement strategies to ensure the highest quality of work, optimize efficiency and productivity, and meet or exceed KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Ensure safe operations and healthy environments for employees, customers, vendors, and visitors
- Verify paperwork and accurately complete all necessary records and reports
- Implement continuous improvement action plans.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and improve service levels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Be flexible to work extended hours, weekends and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 or more years of experience in operations leadership,quality or closely related field.
- Must have required documentation prior to working onsite (Photocopy Identification, Birth Certificate or Passport)
- 3+ years of recent experience in a warehouse environment
- 2 or more years in a supervisory role
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Experience with SAP.
- Prior experience in Quality ITC Audit or Quality Inspection.
$65,000-$85,000 per year
