Purpose
Open Postdoc Position in tumor immunology and immunotherapy in prostate cancer:
Louisville
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dev Karan in the Department of Urology, conducting research on projects in molecular biology, tumor immunology, and immunotherapy of prostate cancer. Our laboratory has multiple directions related to tumor immunology, immunotherapy, and molecular characterization of cancer cell biology, emphasizing understanding the therapeutic targeting of cancer.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and or M.D. in the areas of cancer biology, molecular/cell biology, or other related fields of biomedical sciences and should be self-motivated, able to design and conduct experiments, prepare and present their work at meetings, and write scientific manuscripts. Research specific skills include but are not limited to cell and molecular biology techniques and immunological assays.
Prior experience in the areas of tumor immunology/immunotherapy with live animals or experience in mouse models related to cancer is required. The applicant is required to conduct research activities lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as to train students/ technologists when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan and execute research experiments.
- Analyze experimental data and update research notebooks.
- Reading literature relevant to research and training objectives.
- Preparation of manuscripts and written reports.
- Oral presentations at group/local meetings, attendance at seminars.
- Training students and technicians.
- A PhD or PhD/MD degree in the field of Biological Science is required.
- Previous working experience in prostate cancer or any area of immunology.
- Project planning and execution.
- Manuscript preparation of research findings.
- Statistical analysis, data interpretation, and troubleshooting.
- Organized – manages time effectively, keeps tasks appropriately prioritized.
- Critical Thinking – ability to think through issues and identify appropriate options.
- Work Ethic – motivated, diligent, industrious, and persistent in the workplace, stays on tasks to completion, works at a pace sufficient to ensure optimal efficiency.

- Occasionally:
