Retail Sales Associate

Overview

Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Compensation ranges from $12.00 to $15.00 per hour with commission opportunities.

We offer a commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process, with potential to earn unlimited commission above your hourly base rate.

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the store staff to ensure customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and assisting customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions, and resolving customer inquiries. Associates will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The Full-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate earns an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. The actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers and contribute to a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training and perform other related duties as needed.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, lifting, etc.) in compliance with laws.
• Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
• Flexibility to assist customers outdoors or in exterior storage areas as needed.
• Minimum Age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform basic math.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
