Assistant Store Manager

Mattress Firm seeks an Assistant Store Manager - Sales to support daily store operations while driving a high-performance sales culture. You will lead by example on the sales floor, engaging customers, recommending sleep solutions, and meeting or exceeding sales goals. Partner with the Store Manager on coaching associates, scheduling, merchandising, and inventory control. Ensure an exceptional customer experience aligned with our customer-first values.

Responsibilities

• Drive mattress and bedding sales through consultative selling and product expertise
• Support Store Manager in leading, coaching, and motivating sales associates
• Ensure a customer-first experience from greeting through post-sale follow-up
• Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing and cash handling
• Assist with scheduling, labor planning, and delegation of daily tasks
• Maintain store merchandising standards and signage in line with company guidelines
• Monitor inventory levels, transfers, and shrink control processes
• Track and report on individual and store sales performance metrics
• Support training and onboarding of new team members
• Promote Mattress Firm programs, financing options, and protection plans
