Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences? Lead the front of house at Haymarket!

About Us

The legacy of Ashbourne Farms is built on deep agricultural tradition, from breeding Shorthorn cattle to serving original farm-to-table cuisine. Today, that means responsibly raised animals, sustainably grown produce, and true care for our land. Through Haymarket, we celebrate the finest local and global artisans—bringing freshly harvested produce, artisan bread, pasture-raised meats, drive-thru coffee, and prepared foods straight from our soil to our shelves.

We are looking for an outgoing, high-energy Guest Services Lead to bring our hospitality standards to life! In this front-line leadership role, you set the tone for the entire customer experience. You will welcome guests, lead by example at the registers, share our product story, and support daily front-of-house operations to keep everything running smoothly.

If you love working with people, stay calm and positive when it gets busy, and want to help build a loyal community of repeat guests, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Do
  • Deliver Warm Hospitality:
Greet every guest, anticipate needs, and handle customer questions or feedback with patience, care, and professionalism.
  • Lead by Example at Checkout:
Operate POS registers smoothly, process orders and payments quickly, and keep transaction lines moving with accuracy and warmth.
  • Share the Haymarket Story:
Confidently guide guests through our menu, farm offerings, ingredients, and seasonal specials, recommending items they will love.
  • Maintain Front-of-House Standards:
Keep register stations, café seating, and guest areas clean, organized, fully stocked, and presentation-ready.
  • Support Daily Shift Flow:
Coordinate front-end workflows, assist teammates during peak rushes, support opening and closing routines, and keep operations aligned with SOPs and food safety rules.
How We Measure Success
  • Exceptional Guest Satisfaction:
Earning customer loyalty and turning first-time shoppers into regulars through top-tier service.
  • Sales & Offerings Growth:
Increasing sales through genuine product knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and active promotion of specials.
  • Operational Excellence:
Accurate cash and POS handling, clean guest touchpoints, and seamless team execution during peak hours.
Skills & Abilities You Need
  • People-First Leadership:
Friendly, energetic, and encouraging; you lead by example and inspire those around you.
  • Multi-Tasking Under Pressure:
Able to prioritize tasks and stay composed in a bustling retail, café, or dining atmosphere.
  • Clear Communication:
Great verbal skills to connect with guests, de-escalate concerns, and coordinate with store leaders.
  • Tech & Register

    Skills:

Comfortable operating POS systems, handling cash responsibly, and troubleshooting basic register steps.
Experience & Education Requirements
  • Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience:

3 to 5 years of experience in retail, café, restaurant, guest service, or hospitality roles.
  • Leadership

    Experience:

Previous team lead, supervisory, or keyholder experience is strongly preferred.
Physical & Workplace Requirements

This is an active, front-of-house customer service role. To succeed, you must be able to:

  • Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive register and merchandising motions.
  • Regularly lift, carry, and move boxes or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Navigate sales floors, café counters, storage, and back-of-house areas with ease.
  • Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business volume.
